The double-sided butyl rubber adhesive tape is a cold-applied material designed as the inner layer of a multi-ply pipeline coating system. It is primarily used for the corrosion protection of oil, gas, and water pipelines, either underground or aboveground.
A liquid adhesive primer is recommended before application. The primer forms an initial anticorrosion barrier and creates a smooth, uniform surface to ensure strong adhesion of the double-sided tape to the pipe.
